Share Certificates

BayPort Credit Union's Share Certificates are perfect for members interested in safe investment options for short periods of time ranging from several months to a few years. Many members open multiple Share Certificates at different terms so money always is available from a matured certificate.

Your money will grow at a fixed rate for the length of the certificate's term. The longer your certificate's term, the higher rate of return you will receive. When your certificate matures, determine if you need the money immediately or if you can reinvest in another certificate to increase your savings.

  • Low minimum opening deposit (varies depending on your age and the certificate's term)
  • Risk-free way to build your savings balance
  • Earn dividends compounded monthly
  • 25-Month Flex Certificate* allows members to take advantage of rate changes during the certificate term
  • Flexible terms ranging from 91 days to 5 years
  • Members 25 years and younger can purchase a 30-month certificate with a minimum $100 balance

Opening your Share Certificate is easy through online banking. You can start earning dividends immediately while diversifying your savings. As your financial friend in the neighborhood, BayPort Credit Union is committed to improving the lives of our members in the Tidewater and Hampton Roads, Virginia, area.

*One-time option to bump up the rate. The bump-up rate will match the rate currently in effect for a 25-month certificate term at the time the option is exercised. A penalty and/or account closure may be imposed for additional withdrawals before maturity. Minimum balance requirement must be maintained. Minimum deposit $5,000.
