Overdraft Privilege
Most BayPort members are eligible for Overdraft Privilege, which pays overdraft items up to $500 and eliminates the fee for non-sufficient funds. This service automatically covers checks, ACH, bill payment and recurring debit card transactions without any effort on your part. There's no cost if you don't use it, and a fee up to $25 applies each time you do.
If you want to extend overdraft coverage to your ATM and everyday debit card transactions, you can opt-in online:
- Log into Online Banking using your personal credentials.
- Select "Secure Forms" from the main menu.
- Select "Overdraft Privilege."
You also can opt-in by calling 757.928.8850 or 800.928.8801. Alternatively, you can print the form and deliver it to your nearest BayPort branch or mail it to this address:

Whether overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if an account is not in good standing, if the member is not making regular deposits, or if they have too many overdrafts. Each item presented will be assessed an overdraft fee if paid or a non-sufficient fund (NSF) fee if it is returned. You must bring your account back to a positive balance within 30 days.
