Join BayPort’s Free Virtual Scholarship Workshops

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month, and BayPort Credit Union is celebrating by empowering local member students with the knowledge they need to make the most of our 12 available scholarship types that will be awarded to 36 individuals for the 2026-2027 academic year. 

Throughout the month, BayPort will host free virtual scholarship workshops, each spotlighting a different scholarship opportunity. These quick, 30-minute sessions break down eligibility requirements, award details, and the application process—so you know exactly what to expect before you apply.

Whether you’re a high school senior, a college student, or a working adult continuing your education, these workshops are designed to help you move forward with confidence.

February 3, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
Beard/Bennett Memorial Scholarship – $8,000 awarded to six high school seniors

February 5, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
Director’s Scholarship – $2,000 awarded to seven undergraduate or graduate members

February 10, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
SRCU Member Scholarship – $2,000 awarded to six seniors from BayPort partner high schools

February 12, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
Legacy Scholarships Overview (Heldreth, McGee, Rowe, Wright) – $10,000 awarded to five eligible college students and working adults

February 19, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
Tuition Booster Scholarship – $1,000 awarded to six working professionals

February 24, 2026 | 6–6:30 p.m.
Wiatt Memorial Apprentice School Scholarship – $2,000 awarded to two eligible Newport News Shipbuilding apprentices or graduates
