NEWPORT NEWS, Va., March 3, 2026 – BayPort Credit Union has added a new position to its executive team and is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Jones to Vice President, Facilities and Logistics. In this role, Jones will oversee the management of the credit union’s facilities and logistics operations, ensuring operational efficiency and long-term sustainability across the organization.
Jones has more than 30 years of experience in asset and liability management, business resiliency planning, and maximizing operational efficiencies. His institutional credit union knowledge will position him to further strengthen BayPort’s infrastructure and growth.
Jones has been with BayPort since 1992, most recently serving as Operations Manager. Throughout his tenure, he has held several key roles within the organization, including Financial Analyst, Administrative Assistant, Relief Specialist, Teller, and Courier.
Jones is a graduate of the Southeastern Regional Credit Union School (SRCUS) and the 2025 recipient of the Tom McWilliams Service to SRCUS Award, which honors students who demonstrate empathetic leadership, inclusiveness, strong communication and listening skills, and a commitment to service.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance. Outside of work, Jones serves as Treasurer at Connection Church in Hampton, Virginia.
