Apply nowTo address gaps in services for the Greater Hampton Roads communities, three leading corporations headquartered in Newport News, VA—Newport News Shipbuilding, Ferguson, and the BayPort Foundation—will collectively commit to a $500,000, 3-year transformation grant for award to a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The ACT Grant is an extension of Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, the One Community Transformational Grant program launched in 2018. It attracted the interest of Ferguson Cares and the BayPort Foundation, BayPort Credit Union’s philanthropic arm, to expand the program’s scope and funding. Recognizing each other’s unwavering commitment to the community, the 2022 ACT Grant is an extension of the companies’ existing charitable giving.

The ACT grant will be awarded to an eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located within the Greater Hampton Roads, Virginia, geographic footprint. Subject to the Contributions Committee’s annual review of the nonprofit’s demonstrated effectiveness of the application submission, the recipient will receive a step-down grant in the following yearly payments.
