Overdraft Protection
BayPort Credit Union offers members overdraft protection to pay checks, ACH, Bill Payment and recurring debit card transactions when there are insufficient funds in your checking account at the time of presentment.
- Authorize the automatic transfer* of funds from your FlexLine loan or savings** account to cover checks you write
- Save money by avoiding returned check fees
- Save time by eliminating a trip to the Credit Union
eBranch users can apply for Overdraft Protection online!
- Log on to eBranch
- Select Apply Online from the main menu
- Then, select and complete the Overdraft Protection Application
- Your request will be processed within 2 business days

*To use your Overdraft Protection you must have funds available in your account/line of credit to cover the checks you write.
**Regulation D restricts savings transfers to six per month. A FlexLine loan offers unlimited transfers up to your approved credit limit
Overdraft Privilege
As your Credit Union, we are always looking for ways to help improve your financial well-being. We offer a great service to enhance the value of your checking account. It's called Overdraft Privilege and here is how it works.
For members who are eligible, which is most of our members, we will generally pay overdraft items up to $500 instead of returning them and charging a non-sufficient fund (NSF) fee. This may eliminate returned checks and returned check charges from merchants. It can also eliminate the embarrassment that accompanies having your check returned. It's so easy. You don't have to do anything to activate the service for checks, ACH, Bill Payment and recurring debit card transactions. So, feel more confident about your finances and the peace of mind that Overdraft Privilege may bring you. If you would rather not participate in this service, please contact us to opt out.
You may also extend this valuable service to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
To provide us with your consent to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transaction, simply follow the instructions below to Opt-In for this valuable service. Remember, if you don't use it, there will be no cost to you. Each item presented will be assessed an overdraft fee of up to $25 (for a complete listing of fees, please click here for our Fee Schedule).
Overdraft Privilege could save you the hassle and embarrassment of declined transactions at your local restaurant or merchant and offers you peace of mind for the times when you need it most. In order for us to provide this service, you must Opt-In. You may opt-in online, by phone, or at any of our branch locations.
To opt-in online:
- Log on to eBranch.
- Select Apply Online from the main menu.
- Then, select Overdraft Privilege (Opt-In ATM/Debit).

We appreciate your business, and your Overdraft Privilege is just another way we can say "thank you" for your membership with us!
Whether overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if an account is not in good standing, if the member is not making regular deposits, or if they have too many overdrafts. Each item presented will be assessed an overdraft fee if paid or an NSF fee if it is returned. You must bring your account back to a positive balance within 30 days.
