Financial Football Camp

BayPort Credit Union in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Hampton Roads, has developed “BayPort Financial Football Training Camp” that is being taught at Boys and Girls sites on the Peninsula throughout the summer. The camp was kicked off on June 22 by ex-pro NFL Quarterback, Aaron Brooks.
The free web-based game developed by Visa and the NFL integrated with their learning, the children have an interactive environment that has the potential to positively influence their futures. When asked “What are some of the things that you will do in handling your money since you attended the camp?”, most campers like Ciara Lindsey, responded by saying, “Save money for college in my savings account”. With the planting of “financial” seeds, BayPort hopes to help these children to grow to be financially savvy adults.
